President's Welcome

Bryan Jeffries - President

Welcome to the official website of the United Mesa Fire Fighters Association. I am very proud to represent the more than 700 Fire Fighters whom are dedicated to serve the communities of Mesa, Gilbert, Apache Junction and the Salt-River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Since 1973 Local 2260 has been a progressive and innovative Local of the International Association of Fire Fighters. We have assembled an incredible team of Executive board members and Trustees to address the diverse needs of our members and our communities.

Through teamwork, community involvement and political action, the United Mesa Fire Fighters have worked to ensure the highest level of Emergency services in our jurisdictions. Our Fire Fighters truly care about the communities we serve and we have always sought to partner with the community and our officials to provide a high level of service as we also protect and enhance Fire Fighter interests.

We are especially proud of the interest-based labor management relations we have established with our employers. The progressive, relationship-based systems we use have meant dramatic enhancements to our service delivery through significant Firefighter empowerment and innovation. Some of our methods have been illustrated in various Fire Service and labor publications including the International Fire Service Institute's (IFSTA) Company Officer book.

We are very assertive group of human beings who generally do not wait for those who affect our livelihoods to ask our opinions. Throughout our history we have always had to stand up for improvements and protections for our health and safety by way of equipment standards, staffing and training enhancements. We have also stood up for fair and equitable compensation, benefits, work hours and conditions. Fire Fighters are action-oriented and it has shown in the accomplishments during the 88 year history of the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Please spend some time on our site learning about this great organization and please feel free to contact us.

Be Safe!
